Bats Explode in a Major Way

Just like the weather at Jack Couch Park, the Panthers bats are starting to heat up.  Kitchener found themselves in an early 3-0 hole after the Majors put up three runs in the top of the 1st inning.  Byron Reichstein had a two run home run for the Majors.  Kitchener would get a run back in the bottom on a home run by Tanner Nivins to lead off the frame for the Panthers.

London got the run back in the 2nd when Carlos Artega continued what would be a productive day for him with an RBI single to make it a 4-1 Majors lead.

Kitchener pounced in the bottom of the 5th with 9 runs of their own.  Kitchener hitters would smack three doubles and three home runs.   Brian Burton, Zach Johnson, and Keegan Marsden all had home runs in the 5th to break the game open for the Panthers.

Tanner Nivins would continue his solid day with his second home run of the afternoon in the 6th inning to make it an 11-4 Panthers lead at the time.

London would try to fight back by scoring two in the 7th, the Panthers answered with two of their own in the bottom half of the inning on RBI hits by Zarley Cina and Marsden.  Kitchener would score six more runs in the 8th with Colin Gordner getting in on the home run barrage today at Jack Couch.

London would get a grand slam in the 9th inning by Cleveland Brownlee to cut the Panthers lead to 19-10, that’s as close as it would get as Mike Schnurr coaxed a fly out from Reichstein to end the game.  Jasvir Rakkar got the win for the Panthers and Phil Saad took the loss for the Majors.

With the win the Panthers have now won five in a row and look to stay hot with their next game coming Thursday, June 6th at 7:30pm against the Barrie Baycats.
