GAME 4: Panthers eliminated by Jackfish
KITCHENER - The season is over for the Kitchener Panthers.
Welland's offensive attack was on display once again, but Kitchener showed some push back in what was ultimately an 11-5 final in favour of the Jackfish.
With the win, Welland eliminates Kitchener in four games and will move on to face Guelph in the IBL's final four.
The first few innings were plagued with precipitation, and there was a half hour rain delay after the third inning.
By then, it was already 6-1 Welland, who saw Jonah Weisner go three-for-six to finish the series hitting .619.
Jake Sanford four-for-six with four RBI. Dawson Tweet also had four runs driven in, and had a home run.
Raul Gonzalez led the Kitchener attack with three hits, including a no doubt home run in the third.
Kitchener also got homers from AJ Karosas and Jorden Carthy in the loss.
Yadian Martinez was tagged with the loss, going four innings and giving up eight runs (four earned) on nine hits.
He struck out five and walked a pair.
Brandon Underhill took the win for Welland. He went 5.2 innings, and gave up 10 hits and five earned runs, while walking two and striking out three.
