When they needed him most, Kitchener Panthers ace Christian Hauck pitched a gem.

Hauck struck out eight in seven innings of work, allowing just two runs on six hits to help Kitchener beat the Baycats in Barrie 4-2 Thursday night.

All the scoring in the game took place in the first two innings.

Both Andy Leader and Jett Jarvis were credited with an RBI, and brought an early end to the night for Baycats starter Jaspreet Shergill.

He gave up four runs (two earned) on four hits in just two innings of work.

Combined with a 9-6 Welland loss to Brantford Thursday, Kitchener re-took sole possession of second place in the IBL.

The Panthers complete their 3 game road trip tomorrow, August 28th, in Welland vs. Jackfish. 1:05pm start time.

Our next Home Game is Sunday, August 29th, Welland Jackfish vs Kitchener Panthers. 2:00pm start time at Jack Couch Park.
