The Kitchener Panthers are pleased to announce the re-signing of 2021 IBL 2nd team All-Star Outfielder, Blake Jacklin (St. Jacobs, ON).

The speedy 20 year old is coming off of an exceptional 2021 rookie season in which he posted a .372 batting average, 7 doubles, 13 RBI, 23 runs, 6 stolen bases and a .438 on base percentage across 22 regular season games. Supplying solid defence in the outfield, a speed threat on the bases and versatility at the plate, which allowed for him to be slotted into the batting order in a variety of ways throughout the season, Jacklin was a major contributor to Kitchener’s success in 2021.

The Waterloo Minor Baseball and Great Lake Canadians product is currently in the early stages of his Redshirt Freshman season at NCAA D2 Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Panthers GM, Mike Boehmer, comments; “We are very pleased to have Blake Jacklin back with us in 2022. Blake had an outstanding first year with us, hitting for a high average, and using his speed on the bases and in the outfield. He is part of what we feel is the best young outfield in the IBL.”

With his athleticism, positive attitude and competitive mindset, Blake has plenty of potential for growth in his game and projects to be a core piece of the Panthers for years to come.
