Jacob Douglas Looks to Build Upon 5-2 Record

The Kitchener Panthers are pleased to announce the signing of Pitcher, Jacob Douglas (Georgetown, ON), for the 2023 season.

The right handed pitcher will be toeing the rubber for his third season in Kitchener after making 10 starts and recording a 5-2 record in 2023. In 52 innings pitched, Jacob recorded 35 strikeouts while allowing only 9 base on balls.

The 6’1” 200 pound 23 year old has 65 career IBL innings under his belt and a record of 6-4.The Panthers organization believes Jacob possesses several important intangibles which should help him to continue to achieve higher levels of success at the IBL level. His competitiveness and resiliency are amongst the best in the league. With the IBL being no stranger to the occasional back and forth barn burner of a contest, Douglas’ ability to stabilize and fight through adversity to deliver a solid outing makes him a very valuable IBL pitcher. HIs ability to do so in some of the least pitcher friendly parks in the IBL makes him that much more valuable.

Jacob began his US collegiate career in Kansas at Garden City Community College (NJCAA D1) where he made 40 appearances across the 2018 and 2019 seasons, recording a 12-8 record and recording 87 strikeouts over 113.1 innings. He then transferred to Fort Hays State University (NCAA D2) where he picked up a 2-2 career record across 3 seasons, making 24 appearances and logging 48.2 innings.

With is ability to both start and relieve, Jacob projects to be an important piece in the revamped Panthers pitching staff in 2023.
