MAJORS ENTER FIRST-ROUND BYE ON A HIGH

KITCHENER -- The London Majors wrapped up the regular season with a 13-7 win over Kitchener Sunday afternoon at Jack Couch Park.

London (22-8) will now get a first-round playoff bye after finishing atop the standings, while third-place Kitchener (16-14) will open the postseason against Brantford.

Evan Britt went 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBI in the victory. Cleveland Brownlee homered and drove in two, Hayden Jaco went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs, Carlos Arteaga singled three times and drove in a run, Byron Reichstein knocked in a run, and Adam Filmon had two hits, an RBI and scored twice.

Nick Carrell (1-1) struck out eight over seven innings for the win. He allowed four runs on seven hits and didn't issue a walk.
Andy Leader hit a pair of solo home runs for the Panthers. Stephen Whalen and Nick Parsons each went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Whalen also hit his second longball of the season. Jorden Carthy homered and drove in two, and Evyn Sherman added an RBI.

Luis Grisanti (1-1) took the loss, giving up seven runs on seven hits with a walk and three strikeouts over three innings.
