Panthers announce first-round schedule against Welland

KITCHENER - The Kitchener Panthers and Welland Jackfish are set to meet in the first-round of the Intercounty Baseball League playoffs for the second year in a row.

Welland eliminated Kitchener in four games last year, en route to a semifinal defeat at the hands of Guelph.

The first three games will be played back-to-back-to-back, while the fourth and fifth game are scheduled for the following Tuesday and Wednesday.

Here is the schedule:

• Game 1 (at Welland) - Thursday, August 21 at 7:15 p.m.
• Game 2 (at Kitchener) - Friday, August 22 at 7:30 p.m.
• Game 3 (at Welland) - Saturday, August 23 at 6:05 p.m.
• Game 4 (at Kitchener)* - Tuesday, August 26 at 7:30 p.m.
• Game 5 (at Welland)* - Wednesday, August 27 at 7:15 p.m.
