Panthers Bolster Bullpen with Signing of Jordan Bahnuk

The Kitchener Panthers are pleased to announce the signing of pitcher, Jordan Bahnuk (Woodstock, ON), for the 2023 season.

The signing of the highly competitive right handed reliever should help to bolster the Panthers’ bullpen which is an area General Manager, Mike Boehmer, has been looking to improve this offseason.

Bahnuk, an alumnus and current coach with the Ontario nationals elite program, joins the Panthers after a very successful collegiate career which began at NJCAA D1 Indian Hills Community College in Iowa before transferring to NAIA Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma.

While at Southwestern Christian University between 2020 to 2022, Jordan recorded a career record of 10 and 1 across 3 seasons. He made 44 appearances, logging 85.2 innings and recorded 101 strikeouts and only 34 walks. He had a career 4.62 ERA as well as 9 saves.

An impressive athlete, Jordan was also used as a pinch runner, going 4 for 4 on stolen base attempts and scoring 9 runs across his career.

His 3 quarter arm slot, competitive nature and experience pitching in high leverage situations as a closer in college should give Panthers Field Manger, Bill Matetich, another intriguing option out of the pen who looks primed to compete for a prominent role.

The Panthers look forward to the impact Jordan should make both on the field and to the team’s culture.
