Panthers Can't Keep Baycats Bats Silent
What looked like a pitcher’s duel early, turned into anything but at Jack Couch Park on Thursday evening.
The Panthers were in good spirits at the start of the game finally having their Cuban imports here in town, the Baycats six home runs on the evening dampened the mood a little bit at the end of the night.
Kitchener starter Brady Schnarr was tagged with the loss tossing 5.2 innings giving up eight runs (seven earned). Barrie starter Adrian Salcedo would pick up the win tossing 5 innings for the Baycats and give up a single run that came home when Zarley Cina scampered home on a Wild Pitch in the 5th inning.
Cina would score the Panthers other run of the night in the 7th inning when he came home on a RBI single by Colin Gordner, unfortunately that would only bring the Panthers within 9-2. The Baycats added another run in the 8th inning to make it a 10-2 game on a home run by Glenn Jackson off of Stephen Gade. Austin Hassani would work a scoreless 9th for the Panthers, who with the 10-2 loss saw their win streak stop at five games.
Kitchener looks to get back into the win column tomorrow night in Brantford 8:00pm, and then host the Welland Jackfish Sunday afternoon at Jack Couch at 2:00pm.
