Panthers Claw Out Game 4 Win

Panthers starter Jas Rakkar pitched 6 ⅓ innings of one run baseball to keep the Panthers in the game.  Barrie got their run off of Rakkar in the 6th inning.  Ryan Spataro lead off with a double and would come around to score on a Sac Fly by Jordan Castaldo.

Baycats starter Emilis Guerrero pitched a solid game in his own right.  Guerrero took the mound with a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the 6th but found trouble.  Kitchener only had one hit until Yorbis Borrto lead off the inning with a bunt single down the third base line.  Jeff Hunt laid down a perfect Sac bunt to get Borroto into scoring position.  Liam Wilson brought home Borroto with a RBI double.  Mike Gordner came up with two runners on base and hit a majestic home run out to right to give the Panthers a 4-1 lead. Zarley Cina followed with a home run of his own two pitches later to extend the lead to 5-1.

Barrie looked like they may get back into the game putting runners at the corners with one out in the top of the 7th.  Brady Schnarr cleaned up the mess getting a strike out of Conner Morro and Glenn Jackson to hit into an inning ending fielder’s choice.

Miguel Lahera pitched the final two frames for the Panthers facing just six batters to preserve the 5-1 win for the Panthers.

Game 5 goes Thursday, September 5th at 7:30pm in Barrie.  Game 6 if needed is back in Kitchener on Saturday night at 7:00pm and Game 7 if needed is in Barrie on Sunday evening at 7:00pm.
