Panthers extend win streak to five

TORONTO – Kitchener extended its win streak to five with a 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs Sunday at Christie Pits.

Mike Gordner drove in two for the Panthers (12-2). Colin Gordner had two hits, an RBI and a run, and Keegan Marsden had the other RBI. Yorbis Borroto singled, doubled and scored, and Zach Johnson went 2-for-4 with a run.

Yoen Socarras (1-0) allowed two runs on three hits with a walk and six strikeouts in seven innings. Mike Schnurr picked up his second save with a perfect ninth.

Justin Marra and Marcus Knecht each hit solo home runs for Toronto. Alberto Tirado (0-1) took the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits over seven innings. He walked two and struck out five.
