Panthers find scoring touch in Toronto

TORONTO - A five-run fourth inning was more than enough to help the Kitchener Panthers snap a five-game losing skid.

The Panthers got to Luis Florentino early as they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 11-2 Wednesday night at Christie Pits.

Florentino was pulled after going 3.2 innings for the Leafs, giving up six hits and six runs (five earned). He struck out six and was tagged with the loss.

Yadian Martinez got the win, despite his strikeout production being down. He fanned three in six innings of work, giving up two runs on four hits.

AJ Karosas drove in four runs, leading the way.

Yordan Manduley and Charlie Towers both had three stolen bases and two hits. Yunior Ibarra and Nico Kyrose also had two hits apiece.

Kitchener improves to 10-19 on the season.

They host the Chatham-Kent Barnstormers Thursday night at Jack Couch Park at 7:30 p.m.
