Panthers Pick up Wins Against Brantford and Hamilton
The Kitchener Panthers recorded their 3rd straight victory, and 7th in 8 games, after recording wins against Brantford and Hamilton this past Thursday and Friday.
On Thursday, the Panthers took the field at home vs Brantford and were able to come away with a hard fought 9-4 victory.
With a 4-4 tie in the 7th inning, the Panthers broke things open with 5 runs, all scored with two outs, to take the lead and never looked back.
Christian Hauck got the start on the mound which ended in a no decision after 6 innings pitched. Nathan Laird picked up the win in relief, striking out 1 in 1 inning of work.
Wilson, Ibarra, Ruiz and Carthy all had 2 RBI games while Marsden went 2 for 3 with an RBI.
On Friday, the Panthers made the trip to Hamilton to take on the Cardinals in an evening contest.
Yadian Martinez made his second start of the season and picked up his second win, allowing only 2 earned runs through 6 innings of work. Brett Reid picked up a strikeout in 0.2 innings before Yamichel Perez was brought into finish off the game, throwing 2.1 innings of scoreless ball, striking out 2 and recording his first IBL save.
Offensively, Elliot Curtis led the way going 1 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI, while Klaus Aplevich hit his first home run of the season!
Blake Jacklin, Liam Wilson and Jett Jarvis each had 2 hits in the contest as well!

The Panthers are back in action this Sunday at home as the London Majors will visit Jack Couch Park for a 5:15 PM Game. Hockey Helps the Homeless will be in attendance with a booth set up for the game to raise funds for their amazing cause.
