Panthers register four hits in blowout loss
HAMILTON - The Kitchener Panthers offence hit a brick wall Friday night in Hamilton.
The Panthers garnered just four hits all night in what was a 13-1 loss to the Cardinals.
Two of the four came in the first inning, but they weren't able to get anyone across. Meantime, Hamilton scored four runs in the first to establish a lead they wouldn't relinquish.
Yosvani Penalver, Malik Williams, Raffi Gross and Josh Williams got the four hits.
The lone Panther run came in the fifth when newcomer Jackson Cooke grounded out, allowing Gross to score.
Dionys Rodriguez gave up eight runs on nine hits in 4.1 innings in the loss. He struck out six and walked one.
Kitchener has lost three straight and is 10-18 on the year. Hamilton improves to 17-9.
The Panthers continue its busy weekend Saturday at 4:08 p.m. in Barrie.
Then, they host Welland Sunday at 5 p.m.
