Panthers Take Down Sox

The weather was perfect and the pitching at the start of the game was pretty close as well.

Kitchener starter Yoen Socarras kept the Brantford hitters off balance for 5 innings.  Brantford starter Abel Delos Santos gave up a solo home run in the 2nd inning to Keegan Marsden.  Delos Santos would fire zeros until the 5th when a RBI single by Andy Leader and a two run double by Yorbis Borroto pushed the Panthers lead to 4-0.

Brantford would get to Socarras in the 6th when Gianfranco Morello connected for a two run homer to pull the Sox within 4-2.  Jesse Fishbaum would follow with a run scoring double to make it a 4-3 and end Socarras’ day.  RHP Jasvir Rakkar would relieve Socarras in the top of the 6th for the Panthers.  Zarzycki would greet Rakkar with a RBI single to tie the game at 4.

Kitchener would get the lead back in the bottom of the 6th.  Keegan Marsden knocked a RBI single to score Mike Gordner, and Zarley Cina would come in on an E6 by the Red Sox to push the Panthers lead to 6-4.  Kitchener would add two more runs in the frame on a bases loaded BB to Borroto, and a catcher’s interference call when Jeff Hunt was at bat for a 8-4 lead.

Rakkar and Mike Schnurr would combine to throw scoreless innings in the 7th and 8th respectively for the Panthers.

Brady Schnarr would work the 9th for the Panthers and set the Sox down in order to preserve the 8-4 win for the Panthers.

Kitchener’s next home game is Sunday, June 30th at 2:00pm against the Hamilton Cardinals.
