Panthers Use Long Ball To Take Down Maple Leafs
The Panthers came into Thursday night with a 3-1 series lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs hoping Jas Rakkar could pitch them into the 2nd round.
Kitchener got on the board first in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Tanner Nivins came home on a balk with two outs.
Toronto would fight back and knot the game at one in the top of the 4th on a solo home run by Zac Orchard.
Both Toronto and Kitchener would toss zeros from the 4th inning all the way to the 9th inning when Kitchener broke through off of Leafs reliever Justin Cicatello. Tanner Nivins lead the inning off with a single but was erased on a Fielder’s Choice by Mike Gordner. Brian Burton stepped into the box looking to become the hero and lined a 1-0 pitch over the wall in right center for a walk off two run home run to give the Panthers a 3-1 win and a 4-1 series win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.
