SIGNING TRACKER: Jorge De La Cruz adds to bullpen

KITCHENER - A key piece of last year's bullpen is back in Kitchener in 2025.

Jorge De La Cruz has signed on for the year, after he was acquired in the Andy Leader deal with Guelph last season.

De La Cruz enters his fifth season in the IBL. He got into five Panthers games in 2024, pitching for a 7.87 ERA in eight innings, striking out 14 and walking three batters.

The native of the Dominican Republic is considered a domestic player.

"I am happy Jorge will be back with us this season," said general manager Shanif Hirani.

"After being acquired mid-season last year, we got a first-hand look at how good his stuff can be. Having him for a full year with a more consistent role should let him settle in and provide some high leverage innings for us."
