SIGNING TRACKER: Kade Kozak to Kitchener confirmed

KITCHENER - Kade Kozak is coming to Kitchener.

The lefty arm will add to an already stacked bullpen after gaining a year of IBL work in Hamilton.

Last season with the Cards, Kozak appeared in 10 games and registered his first IBL win, July 7 against Toronto. He posted a 4.90 ERA in 11 innings of work.

The lefty spent his collegiate career at Lee University in Cleveland, TN and Davis & Elkins College in West Virginia.

In his freshman year at Davis & Elkins in 2019, he had his heaviest workload, getting into 14 games, posting a 5.40 ERA and collected 27 strikeouts in 33.1 innings.

Kozak got into 12 games during his 2022 campaign at Lee, collecting a 4.73 ERA.

He played youth ball with the Okanagan Athletics.

"We are excited to add Kade to our pitching staff," said general manager Shanif Hirani.

"With a year of IBL experience under his belt, we believe he can continue to build on last season and be extremely effective out of the bullpen for us."
