Win Streak Reaches Six
With the way the wind was blowing out at Jack Couch you knew there would be home runs, you just didn’t know who and how many.
After the Royals took a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st, the Panthers responded in the bottom with a leadoff home run from Yorbis Borroto.
The Panthers would then explode for six runs in the bottom of the 2nd to pull out to a 7-1 lead. Zach Johnson had a two run homer, Yorbis Borotto, Colin Gordner, and Mike Gordner each had RBI knocks in the inning of their own.
Former Panther Sean Reilly would knock a home run out to left in the 3rd for the Royals to bring them within 7-2. Ethan Mohan also smacked a two run home run in the 7th off of Panthers reliever Austin hassani to make it a 7-4 Panthers lead.
Mike Schnurr and Miguel Lahera would throw scoreless innings in the 8th and 9th respectively to lock down the victory for the Panthers.
Kitchener travels to Welland on Saturday afternoon to face the Jackfish, and then are back home Sunday afternoon against the Red Sox at 2:00pm.
